FAO recognizes Chile, China and Morocco as the latest in a growing list of countries to reduce hunger, but urges stronger efforts to eradicate undernourishment
16 June, 2014, Rome - Chile, China and Morocco today won recognition from FAO for outstanding progress in fighting hunger, an achievement that sees them join a growing group of countries to have reached international targets ahead of an end-of-2015 deadline.

16 June 2014, Rome- Building on previous efforts, the Kingdom of Morocco will offer technical assistance to the Republic of Guinea through a South-South Cooperation Tripartite Agreement signed today at FAO headquarters by FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva, Morocco’s Minister of Agriculture and Marine Fisheries, Aziz Akhannouch, and Guinea’s Ambassador Permanent Representative to FAO, Mamady Conde.

13 June 2014, Rome – FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva met today with Ghana’s Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Nayon Bilijo, who was in Rome to attend the Committee on Fisheries (COFI).

13 June 2014, Rome - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva met today with Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, Rauf Hajiyev, to discuss ways to further develop cooperation, in particular, in the fisheries and aquaculture sector. 

Director-General highly commended the dynamic of cooperation with Azerbaijan after the regional conference in Baku and particularly in the fisheries and aquaculture sector.

Countries called to action at Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2) in Rome in November
12 June 2014, Rome - As hundreds of millions of people around the world continue to suffer from hunger and malnutrition, governments should make stronger commitments at the upcoming Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2) to ensure healthier diets for all, the heads of FAO and WHO said today.

A high-level, global intergovernmental meeting, ICN2 is scheduled to take place in Rome on 19-21 November 2014.
