28 March 2014, Tunis, Tunisia – FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva met today with the Union of the Comoros Minister of Production, Environment, Energy, Industry and Handicrafts Abdou Nassur Madin, on the sidelines of FAO’s 28th Regional Conference for Africa in Tunis.
The talks focused on FAO’s Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP) in the country which aims to assist the Comoros boost its National System of Sanitary Control of Food
28 March 2014, Tunis, Tunisia – FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva met today with Burundi’s Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Odette Kayitesi, on the sidelines of FAO’s 28th Regional Conference for Africa in Tunis.
Graziano da Silva praised the government of Burundi for setting up a national multi-sector platform to fight malnutrition and for its membership of the SUN (Scaling Up Nutrition) Movement.

The Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mali, Niger and South Sudan signed agreements in Tunis and Llilongwe with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to receive $2 million each from the Africa Solidarity Trust Fund.
28th March 2014 Tunis, Tunisia– FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva met today with the outgoing Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Hon Robert K.K. Sichinga, to discuss FAO-Africa cooperation in eradicating hunger, and support to Zambia’s national priorities in agriculture and food security-related issues.
Their discussion touched upon the implementation of the National Agriculture Investment Plan for which resources have been mobilised from public resources and resource partners.
