Plenary of CFS endorses guidance to ensure investment in agriculture and food systems benefits local food security and workers’ rights
16 October 2014, Rome -- Governments from around the world have approved a landmark set of principles meant to guide investment in agriculture and food systems, aimed at assuring that cross-border and corporate investment flows lead to improved food security and sustainability and respect the rights of farm and food workers.

15 October 2014, Rome - China has announced a $50 million donation to FAO to support the Organization's program of "South-South cooperation" to improve food security and promote sustainable agricultural development over the next five years.

14 October 2014, Rome - FAO Director-General today lauded China’s achievements in fighting hunger and malnutrition during a meeting with the country's Agriculture Minister, Han Changfu. 

China has already achieved the first Millennium Development Goal hunger target of halving the proportion its population experiencing chronic hunger between 1990 and the end of 2015.

Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang is set to deliver a speech these accomplishments and China's contribution to global
