Meeting: Preparedness and response to impacts of El Nino on agriculture and food and nutrition security in southern Africa (Johannesburg, 25 - 26 February 2016)
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture organisation of the UN (FAO) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) will host a stakeholder consultative meeting on 25 – 26 February 2016. The meeting aims to create a common understanding of the effects of the El Nino event from a regional perspective and agree on necessary actions and commitments on how to best prepare, respond and mitigate the impacts through a concerted and coordinated multi-sectorial regional approach.
