CEMSA 74-725, Senorita, CMC-40, Pinera, CEMSA 74-110 and CEMSA 74-207 were planted in the field in Jan. 1984. Root DM yield at 8 months ranged from 8.2 t/ha in CEMSA 74-207 to 11.1 t in CEMSA 74-725 and at 12 months from 10.6 t/ha in CEMSA 74-110 to 15.7 t in CEMSA 74-207. Over the 2 harvests, DM content was 30-38%, CP 1.2-1.8%, crude fat 0.2-0.4% and NFE 27-35%, however, CF and ash contents were 0.9-1.1% and 0.4-0.7%, resp., at 8 months, and 0.02-0.16% and 1.2-1.4% at 12 months. This abstract relates to the following species:Manihot esculenta
