Indian-Journal-of-Animal-Sciences. 1986, 56: 2, 258-261; 6 ref. For 84 days 32 weaned Nellore lambs, 90 days old and average weight 11.2 kg, were given to appetite rations containing 80, 60, 40 or 20% groundnut haulms (14.8% crude protein in DM) mixed with concentrate. The rations contained digestible crude protein 6.21, 7.49, 7.82 and 8.08% and total digestible nutrients 52.9, 59.1, 60.0 and 62.6%, respectively. Average daily weight gains were 40.3, 58.8, 71.9 and 86.8 g, feed to gain ratio 14.7, 11.7, 9.9 and 7.5 and daily nitrogen retention 4.6, 7.4, 8.6 and 9.5 g. DM digestibility, 56.5-63.4%, did not differ significantly between rations. It was concluded that a complete ration containing groundnut haulms and concentrate (2:3) was economical for growing lambs. This abstract relates to the following species:Arachis hypogaea, Arachis hypogaea
