Adult crossbred cattle and Murrah buffaloes were given diets based on groundnut oilmeal or cottonseed oilmeal for 3 weeks. Average DM intake was 2.17 and 2.37 kg/100 kg bodyweight for cattle given groundnut oilmeal and cottonseed oilmeal, respectively. Values for buffalo were 2.00 and 1.94 kg. Average daily crude protein intake was 454 and 458 g for cattle and 466 and 431 g for buffalo. Ruminal protein nitrogen was 26.1 and 25.3 in cattle and 20.5 and 24.7 mg/100 ml in buffalo.
