Reverted veld was sown with Stylosanthes guianensis cv. Oxley in Jan. 1980 and was grazed by 1.20, 0.90, 0.72 or 0.60 weaner steers/ha from June 1980. All steer wt. decreased in the dry season and increased from late Sept. to late May. Dry season wt. losses were lowest with the highest stocking rate but there were no significant differences between the other 3 stocking rates.
