Comparative evaluation of the nutritive value of cakes of groundnut, niger and safflower for poultry.

Groundnut, niger (Guizotia abyssinica) and safflower cakes contained crude protein 43.9, 43.1 and 47.4%, respectively, in DM. In studies with chicks, gross protein value was 46.8, 45.6 and 41.8, net protein value 40.8, 37.7 and 30.3 and N-corrected metabolizable energy in kcal/g 2.61, 2.56 and 2.59. Methionine was 0.78, 1.48, 1.27 and lysine 3.63, 3.35, 2.30% in protein.
