Buffaloes were given wheat straw, green fodder and a concentrate containing maize and groundnut cake (GC) or 50 g urea, 450 g rice bran and 8 kg potato waste (PW, discarded stored tubers) or 450 g GC and 8 kg PW daily. Digestibility of dietary constituents and composition of rumen liquor were estimated. The PW (protein 14.1, ether extract 1.2, N-free extract 70.2, fibre 5.4 and ash 9.1% in DM) was shown to be a good source of energy and protein.
