Map of China

China is situated in eastern Asia, bounded by the Pacific in the east. The third largest country in the world, next to Canada and Russia, it has an area of 9.6 million square kilometres, or one-fifteenth of the world's land mass. It begins from the confluence of the Heilong and Wusuli rivers  in the east to the Pamirs west of Wuqia County in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region  in the west, about 5,200 kilometres apart; and from the midstream of the Heilong River north of Mohe  in the north to the southernmost island Zengmu'ansha in the South China Sea , about 5,500 kilometres apart.

The students of IAAAS will have Beijing City as their centre and will live and work with the farmers from different cities and villages around Beijing, and in Hebai and Sichuan provinces.  These provinces have their differences in location, size, type of land and economy. However, the farmers from north, and west have similar interests and motivation which originates from their cultural bagrounds.

Farmers in North and Southwest China are more traditional and nature loving people.  They believe in retaining natural beauty and gain from it by not disturbing it.  Here are some breathtaking pictures from Southwest China
