Forage biomass production potential, herbage quality and nutrient cycling in Erythrina poeppigiana intercropped with coffee, Cynodon nlemfuensis and Pennisetum spp., and live fences or monocrops of E. poeppigiana or Gliricidia sepium in central America are examined. The nutritive value of Erythrina spp. and G. sepium, silage conservation, and animal production responses are also discussed.
