Of samples of cotton seeds, cottonseed cake and cottonseed meal examined, 44.6, 49.3 and 70.6%, respectively, were positive for aflatoxin B1 (AFB1). Highest average concentration of AFB1 was 160.6 mug/kg in cottonseed meal, 115 in cotton seeds and 114 in cottonseed cake. However, 8 samples of cotton seed had values over 1000 mug/g.
