Chickens were given from 1 to 10 weeks old a control diet (crude protein 19.8%) containing maize 68.0, rice bran 4.0, copra cake 8.2 and fish meal 19.0% or with 5, 10 or 15% oil palm slurry (OPS) generally replacing maize. OPS, obtained during production of palm oil, contained moisture 82.3, protein 0.8, fat 12.5 and ash 0.6%. Weight gains were 2.17, 2.42, 2.62 and 2.35 kg and feed efficiency 2.55, 2.51, 2.41 and 2.37, respectively. With 10 and 15% OPS carcass fat was slightly greater and protein less than in the other 2 groups. Meat flavour improved with OPS in the diet.
