The object of these investigations was to determine potential animal production with promising forage spp. adapted to well drained savanna, represented by Carimagua, and suitable management for persistence and stability of pasture components. Grass pastures (Brachiaria humidicola), pastures with legumes, grass/legume pastures (Andropogon gayanus + legumes, B. humidicola + Desmodium ovalifolium) and effect of burning and grazing on native savanna are discussed.
