Two hundred day-old Anak broiler chickens were allocated to 5 treatment groups of 2 replicates each. Diets consisted of a control maize based ration and test diets with dried plantain peel replacing 7.5, 15.0, 22.5 and 30.0% of maize in starting and finishing rations. In terms of weight gain, feed intake, mortality and nutrient utilization, the control was better than others. There was also reduction in profit margin expressed in terms of feed cost/kg liveweight gain with inclusion of plantain peel in the diet. This abstract relates to the following species:Musa x
