Castrated Black Bengal goats in groups of 4 each were given daily a basal ration of urea-treated rice straw 400 g and green grass 100 g plus sesame oil cake 50 g, sesame oil cake 50 g and mineral mixture 20 g, fish meal 20 g, or fish meal 20 g and mineral mixture 20 g. In another trial, 12 goats were given daily rice straw 400 g as the basal roughage plus green grass 100 g without supplements, or supplemented with sesame oil cake 50 g and mineral mixture 20 g, or fish meal 20 g plus mineral mixture 20 g. DM digestibility was higher with the urea-treated straw (39.84 to 67.05%) than with the untreated straw (30.31 to 50.87%). The supplementary mineral mixture significantly improved DM digestibility of both untreated and treated straw. Sesame oil cake and fish meal had variable effects on digestibility when untreated straw was given.
