The compound feed for swine and poultry usually contains 3-5% leucaena leaf meal, while that for dairy cattle contains up to 15%. The protein content of leaf meal samples ranged from 11.2 to 21.5%, although pure leaves may contain as much as 17-28%. Leaf mimosine content ranged from 3 to 5%, with great variation between spp.
