Nutrition-Reports-International. 1983, 28: 3, 547-558; 16 ref. From 14 days old piglets were given access in self-feeders to diets based on sorghum and soya bean oilmeal without or with 14 or 28% cassava meal (experiment 1) or 20 or 40% cassava meal (experiment 2). They were weaned at 42 days old and the experiments ended when they were 56 days old. Piglets preferred the diets with 28 and 40% cassava meal in experiments 1 and 2, respectively. Digestibility of crude protein in vitro improved with increasing amounts of cassava in the diet. There was no significant difference between diets based on sorghum or cassava when they were compared by the single feed method. This abstract relates to the following species:Manihot esculenta
