Sapium sebiferum Chinese vegetable tallow, tallowberry, tallow treeDeciduous tree 4-5 m high, sometimes up to 10 m tall, which may assume the habits of a shrub. Cultivated for the fruit, which between the outer husk and seed has a white tallowy mesocarp used in the manufacture of soap and candles. The liquid oil extracted from the seed is used for technical purposes.
