12th Session of the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (2009)
Rome, Italy, 19-23 October 2009
The Twelfth Session of the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture will be held at FAO Headquarters in Rome from 19-23 October 2009.
The opening meeting will begin at 10.00 hours on Monday 19 October 2009. The Session will be preceded by a day of regional consultations on 18 October 2009 and by a one-day Special Event on Policies and Arrangements for Access and Benefit-sharing for Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, on 17 October 2009.

This session of the Commission will be of importance for animal genetic resources, since it will review progress made in the follow up of the International Technical Conference on Animal Genetic Resources held in Interlaken, Switzerland in 2007, and agree on next steps, including a Funding Strategy.
