| Rainer Schultze-Kraft German citizen; born
1941. Graduated from Justus-Liebig-University, Giessen, Germany (1972
MSc, 1976 PhD), and has specialized in tropical pastures since 1970.
1976-1991: Germplasm Agronomist in the CIAT Tropical Pastures Program,
Cali, Colombia, with responsibilities in the area of germplasm collection,
evaluation and utilization, mainly legumes.
1991-present: Professor for Pastures & Forages and Biodiversity &
Land Rehabilitation in the Tropics and Subtropics at the University
of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany, with current research projects in
Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam), Africa (Benin, Nigeria) and South
America (Colombia, Venezuela).
(Co-)Author of about 175 publications including journal articles,
book chapters, congress papers, workshop and newsletter contributions,
etc.; member of the editorial board of "Zootecnia Tropical" (Venezuela)
and international referee of "Pastos y Forrajes" (Cuba). 1997 awarded
"Fellow of the Tropical Grassland Society of Australia".
