Acacia Spp. |
|
Leguminosae Bowyakka or booyakka. A shapely small tree with leafy, rounded head; leaves stiff, grey or slightly greyish green, narrow, straight or almost so; flowers in balls; pods narrow. In Queensland, it is most common in an area from south of Mitchell to about Talwood, forming scrubs of limited extent chiefly on pebbly brown clay loam soils. Small patches are known as far west as Cheepie. Cattle and sheep eat it readily (Everist, 1969).
