Description

Annual or perennial robust plant. Stems erect, 30 - 90 cm high.

Temperature

Adapted to warm climates. Rather cold sensitive. Very resistant to warm.

Resistant to drought.

Soil

Very sensitive to a high soil humidity. Reacts well to nutrient availability. Cultivated on good soils.

Distribution

Native to South America. Cultivated and naturalized in diverse warm temperate regions. In the lowlands.
