Common names

Dead finish.

Characteristics

Shrub, usually with crooked irregular branches; leaves very narrow, bright green with sharp points, borne in tufts on short branchlets off the main branches, deciduous during the dry season; flowers bright yellow, in balls; pods brown, very narrow and inclined to curl. In Queensland, this species occurs only west of the Parvo River, mainly on hard red-brown soils. It is eaten fairly readily but because the leaves are shed during drought, they are not available under real drought conditions.
