Common names: Algarobilla, Nandubay Description: Late deciduous tree, up to 8 m high, short thick trunk, large top. Distribution: Distribution in Northeastern Argentina, Southern Bolivia, Southwest Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay. Habitat: Important tree in open forests covering a grass swath; on stony soils, flat meadows, riverside forests, prefers humid/flooded places, grows better between 600-1200 mm rainfall, but tolerates drought.
