Leguminosae Description
A woody plant, silvery when young. Petioles 1.25 to 2.5 cm long, leaflets green, fairly smooth above but densely pubescent with white silky hairs below. Terminal leaflets 2.5 to 4 cm long. Racemes copious, terminal, dense, 2.5 to 5 cm long; pod 1.25 to 2 cm long, smooth, 4- to 6-jointed and 0.3 cm broad (Hooker, 1879).
Distribution
India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Philippines.
Characteristics
Farinas (1966) records this as a drought-resistant species which also tolerates stagnant water up to at least two months.
