Description

A prostrate, decumbent or weakly ascending perennial herb, up to 30 cm long; stems densely pubescent with silvery hairs. Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets oblanceolate, elliptic or obovate, up to 23-48 mm long and 4-15 mm wide, rather densely silvery appressed pilose on both surfaces; stipules linear or linear-lanceolate. Racemes long-pedunculate, with ± 3-8 flowers towards the top; standard yellow, veined and tinged reddish-purple outside. Pod practically sessile, subcylindrical, sometimes slightly broadened towards the apex, up to 24 mm long, shortly pubescent, ± 24-32-seeded; seeds oblique-cordiform, smooth, brown.

Habitat

Acacia grassland savanna, evergreen bushland or upland grassland, also a weed along roadsides.

Altitude range

1500-2100 m.
