Characteristics

Small tree with dark brown, finely furrowed bark; leaves long, usually dull green in colour, not curved; flowers pale yellow, in balls; pods grey or bluish grey, fairly long with constructions between the seeds similar to those of desert oak (A. coriacea) . This plant is found mostly on river channels in Queensland in the area of 250- to 625-mm rainfall. It is eaten fairly readily but is not cut to any extent for drought feed (Everist, 1969).
