Characteristics

Tree with upright trunk and pendulous branches. Bark pale yellowish-grey, soft and corky; leaves bright green, fernlike, pendulous. Pods grey, 10 to 15 cm long and up to 2.5 cm wide. Grows on clay soils, mostly north of the 500-mm rainfall belt, and favours lightly timbered downs country. It is eaten fairly readily by sheep and cattle (Everist, 1969). It is native to Queensland.
