Field
Programme
FAO
is assisting maize production improvement in
many countries through field projects. Among
them, China, Democratic Popular Republic of
Korea, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Erithrea. Maize
production improvement is also an important
component of many Special Programme for Food
Security projects emergency projects and
Telefood projects.
Network
The
Tropical Asian Maize Network (TAMNET)
was created in 1993 under the FAO's auspices.
The main objective is to strengthen and to
facilitate the collaboration between the
National Maize Programmes of the region with a
view to increasing maize production and
productivity, in particular, through the
development of hybrid maize.
