maize database is under preparation. It will
provide the following information to the main
maize producer countries:
Map
with delineation of growing maize environments
based on latitude, altitude, climatic data and
soil characteristics;
Maize
production statistics;
Brief
overview of the national maize breeding
programme(s);
Main
maize varieties.
The
preparation of the database will take one to two
years. The assistance of the National Maize
Programmes in the preparation of the database is
welcome.
