INTERNATIONAL TASK FORCE ON HYBRID RICE (INTAFOHR)
The INTAFOHR was jointly established by FAO and IRRI in 1995. The present Members of the Task Force include Bangladesh, China, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Viet Nam, CIAT, FAO and IRRI.
Objectives
To promote free exchange of germplasm, information and data from on-going research and development programmes concerning hybrid rice among interested partners;
To intensify collaborative strategic research on hybrid rice;
To organize training, monitoring tours and meetings/workshops on hybrid rice breeding and F1 seed production;
To strengthen the public and private hybrid seed industry and linkage between hybrid rice research centres and hybrid seed industries; and
To provide expertise and consultancy services in research and hybrid seed production.

The INTAFOHR consists of:
Task Force Coordination Centre: IRRI, Los Banos, the Philippines. Coordinator: Dr. Saint S. Virmani.
National Liaison Centre, and
Task Force members.
