INTER-REGIONAL COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH NETWORK ON RICE IN THE MEDIANTERREAN CLIMATE AREAS (MED-RICE)
The MED-RICE was jointly established in 1990 by REU, RNE and AGPC, with the participation of 12 Member Countries: Bulgaria, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Turkey, and U.K.
Objective
To promote inter-country co-operation in dealing with common problems of rice in the Mediterranean climate areas.

Five Working Groups: Rice biotechnology, Rice breeding, Rice agronomy, Rice processing and Rice economics. In September 2000, an electronic discussion group was established. Its address is: MEDRICEdiscussion@egroups.com
