THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN FAO AND IRRI:
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between FAO and IRRI for the International Task Force on Hybrid Rice (INTAFOHR) was signed in March 1999. The MOU aimed at strengthening the present collaboration and cooperation between the two agencies within the framework of the FAO/IRRI-sponsored INTAFOHR in order to expedite wide adoption of hybrid rice technologies. The INTAFOHR will bring together IRRI (possessing capacity in developing hybrid rice technology), FAO (possessing capacity in strengthening seed production and technology transfer), and any interested country, to develop and use hybrid rice technologies to increase rice production.
BETWEEN FAO AND WARDA:
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between FAO and WARDA for the implementation of the Programme for Rapid Rice Technology Diffusion in West Africa (RARIDWA) was signed in February 2000. The MOU would strengthen the transfer of technologies generated by WARDA under the framework of Special Programme for Food Security in West African countries.
