Mitch
Hurricane
FFCG
in collaboration with the Soil Resources
Management and Conservation Service, sent a
consultant in early December 1998 to Nicaragua,
Honduras and Guatemala for a three-week mission
to:
- Assess
the global environmental effect of the Mitch
hurricane on the small farms, more specifically,
in the medium and upstream sections of the
affected catchments;
- Assist
in the formulation, promotion and initiation of
National Action Programmes for conservation and
rehabilitation of arable land for sustainable
crop production in the three countries.
