The Desert Locust Information Service (DLIS) issues regular monthly bulletins, forecasts and warnings.
The EMPRES programme concentrates on development activities to strengthen national capacities in early warning and response, research, and Train-theTrainer training.
During locust outbreaks and plagues, the Group coordinates emergency assistance and control through FAO and donor-supported projects.
FAO provides a forum for the exchange of information and planning amongst locust-affected countries and donors through its biannual Desert Locust Control Committee (DLCC) and several regional Commissions.
