The ultimate purpose of PGRFA conservation and use is to contribute to national development and sustainable agriculture.

This activity of the Plan focuses squarely on developing and strengthening national programmes.

High priority is given to establishing national committees or similar coordinating bodies to ensure the involvement of all stakeholders.
