Division of FAO. It assists FAO Members in the development of
appropriate policies, strategies and methodologies for agricultural
support systems and services as well as technologies for rural
development, production and post-production in the agricultural and
food sectors. These activities aim at increasing availability of
food and agricultural products at reduced cost and at adequate
quality and safety levels. Other objectives include enhanced food
security, rural poverty alleviation and improving environmental
sustainability.
