The project generates a diverse range of products targeted to policy makers, field programme managers, programme
designers, field agents and other support service providers. Publications and information products being generated
through the project cover strategies and policy guidance on small farmer competitiveness, commercialization,
enterprise development and diversification into alternative livelihoods. Promotional booklets are being developed
on small farmer income opportunities. Training materials are being developed to improve farmers' skills for farm
planning, technology choice, financial management and marketing. Technical guidelines are being developed to improve
support services and field programmes relating to farm business management, sustainable mechanisation, post harvest
technologies, financial management, and marketing.
