Farm and Agribusiness Management
Technical assistance is being provided by the Division in support of field project activities in developing and transitional countries, worldwide. These projects typically cover a wide range of agribusiness economics and management issues ranging from policy guidance to field level capacity building and advice. Training and capacity building in farm and agribusiness management is a key area in which assistance has been provided through FAO Technical Cooperation Projects. Currently, projects are being implemented in the Pacific and Caribbean regions, Africa and Asia. Our fields of expertise include farm management training and extension, value chain management, agro-food chain competitiveness assessments, agro-industrial project preparation and evaluation and designing and implementing contract farming schemes linking farmers to markets. Policy support is provided to guide decision makers in creating a more conducive enabling environment to promote farm commercialisation and agribusiness development.
