Institutes
Instituto
de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIA)
INIA
covers the country through seven Regional Research Centers. Three
of them are involved in all aspects of wheat technology (plant breeding
and crop management). INIA produces basic seed of new cultivars;
a private enterprise is in charge of its further multiplication,
marketing and distribution to farmers. Extension activities involve
technical meetings, field days and different sort of publications.
These activities may be coordinated with the INDAP (Agricultural
Development Institute), a public institution.
