In 2 experiments lasting 28 and 49 days 64 Hyperco Gold Line hybrid broiler chickens 4 weeks old were given a commercial diet or diets supplying 23% crude protein with 5, 10, 15 or 20% dried poultry droppings (without bedding or feathers). In the first experiment, chickens given the commercial diet ate significantly (P <0.01) more feed than those on the experimental diets. In both experiments livweight gains did not differ among the groups. Feed conversion ratios were poorer (P <0.01) for the commercial diet than for the experimental diets in which values were relatively similar. Carcass quality was good and similar in all groups.
