A total of 20 rabbits in 2 trials were fed on different green tropical tree legume forages in series or separately and intakes were estimated. Highly palatable species (30% or more of total intake) were Leucaena leucocephala and Albizia falcataria, palatable species (20 to 30% of total intake) were Sesbania grandiflora and Erythrina lithosperma. Unpalatable species (less than 20% of total intake) were Calliandra calothyrsus and Gliricidia sepium. In the second trial the most palatable forage was sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) leaves, then L. leucocephala; the least palatable forage was A. falcataria.
