From the 25th to 45th day after calving for 70 days 12 crossbred cows with initial mean liveweight of 439 kg and mean daily milk yield of 11.8 kg were grazed on pasture composed of Brachiaria decumbens 66 and Panicum maximum 34%, unfertilized or treated with 100 kg N/ha. Grazing was continuous with 3.3 cows/ha. Mean daily milk yield was 9.0 and 9.7 kg, yield of milk with 4% fat 9.0 and 9.9 kg and daily weight losses 0.326 and 0.355 kg, respectively.
