Journal-of-Animal-Production-Research. 1983, 3: 1, 15-25; 15 ref. When cottonseed cake (CSC) was treated with 3, 5, 10 or 15% tannin from bagaruwa (Acacia nilotica) meal there was decreased accumulation of ammonia in vitro from CSC incubated with rumen fluid. In studies with lambs given 60% concentrate, half of this CSC, daily gains were 51.6, 70.3 and 42.2 g and feed conversion efficiency 15.7, 12.1 and 18.4, respectively, with 0, 5 and 10% tannin in the ration. Nitrogen digestibility was 52.4, 51.3 and 49.4% and daily N retention 4.34, 5.28 and 2.09 g. This abstract relates to the following species:Acacia nilotica, Gossypium spp
