 | Abstract 566 A note on preservation of wet brewers grains.Dixon,-R; Combellas,-J Inst. Produccion Animal, Facultad de Agronomia, Univ. Central de Venezuela, Maracay, Venezuela. Tropical-Animal-Production. 1983, 8: 2, 151-152; 1 ref. Trials with samples of 200 g wet brewer's grains indicated that, in humid tropical Venezuela, if the containers were covered to maintain aerobic conditions, no preservative was necessary during storage for up to 2 weeks. It could be difficult to maintain such conditions in commercial practice without special storage facilities. Preservations was effected in 300-ml glass jars by maintaining low pH with added sulphuric acid, 2, 4 or 6% of dry matter or equal parts of propionic and formic acids 2%. This abstract relates to the following species:Brewer's spent grain
