Trials with samples of 200 g wet brewer's grains indicated that, in humid tropical Venezuela, if the containers were covered to maintain aerobic conditions, no preservative was necessary during storage for up to 2 weeks. It could be difficult to maintain such conditions in commercial practice without special storage facilities. Preservations was effected in 300-ml glass jars by maintaining low pH with added sulphuric acid, 2, 4 or 6% of dry matter or equal parts of propionic and formic acids 2%.
