Teff

Leafy quick-maturing (10-13 weeks) annual with stems up to 120 cm, high that grows in dry areas with a short rainy season. Prefers heavy soils. Resistant to most pests and diseases but not to weed competition. Used as annual hay grass in arid areas, but is stemmy and unproductive elsewhere. Mostly cultivated for its grain; also makes good pasture and can be combined with legumes.
