The EuFMD programme of activities since the 39th Session in 2011 had 9 components, and this leaflet indicates how these components contribute to improvement in capacity to prevent and control the impact of the disease in European member states through 3 “Pillars” of support that help maintain the high European FMD health status.

The EuFMD held a four week practical epidemiology training course to help provide state veterinary services with the epidemiology skills needed to control FMD. The PEPc course will provide participants with the basic skills andapproach needed to tackle a number of issues. More importantly, knowledge and understanding gained during the course will unlock a wealth of epidemiology resources that were previously impenetrable. The emphasis of this course is on the development of the ‘epidemiological approach’.
