Australian Animal Studies Group Conference 2013
This 5th Conference of the Australian Animal Studies Group will bring together voices from a wide range of disciplines and beyond the academy to examine how new knowledge of human–animal relations requires novel starting points, critical tools and cross-disciplinary connections. The Australian Animal Studies Group (AASG) represents a community of animal studies scholars, scientists, creative artists and animal advocates. They aim to encourage cross-national and disciplinary exchange and, more particularly, to promote work that has animals and human-animal relations as a focus. Keynote speakers include Professor Paul McGreevy, Dr Siobhan O’Sullivan, Associate Professor Kate Rigby, Professor Peter Sankoff, Associate Professor Claire Kim and Professor Cary Wolfe. The conference will also include an art exhibition and a writers’ event.
