ASHA Foundation

ASHA Foundation works for street animals and birds, providing free treatment for the city of Ahmedabad. Mr Harmesh Bhatt, a law student from Pune university, started the ASHA Foundation 3 years ago. The facilities include a mobile clinic, a hospital and shelter service. It employs 8 full-time staff members, including a veterinary surgeon, animal catchers, a driver and a caretaker. They have 2 ambulances, half an acre of land and an operating theatre. A second operating theatre and consultation room are currently being built. There are 24 kennels and cages for birds and dogs.
